Fernando del Río is a Partner at InnovaSalud and has nearly 25 years of experience in strategic consulting, the last 20 of which have been dedicated to the healthcare industry.

His work has focused on supporting pharmaceutical distributors, pharmacy chains, pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. He has led projects for distributors and pharmacy chains, as well as for government institutions, industry associations, and private equity firms.

Fernando has managed dozens of projects covering areas such as distribution and inventory optimization, organic and inorganic growth strategy, strategic and commercial due diligence, portfolio optimization and resource allocation, sales forecasting, organizational structure, commercial effectiveness, and market access strategy.

Before joining InnovaSalud, Fernando served as Regional Consulting and Services Director at IQVIA (formerly IMS Health). At IQVIA, he led practices in distribution strategy, portfolio analytics, pricing and market access, health economics and outcomes research, commercial effectiveness, and market research across Mexico and more than a dozen Latin American markets.

Prior to IQVIA, Fernando was a Principal at The Boston Consulting Group (BCG), where he worked with pharmaceutical and other industry clients on strategy, operational effectiveness, and transformation projects in the United States, Canada, and major Latin American markets.

Fernando holds an MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering from Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana in Mexico City.
